wating...

We are waiting for the shuttle to take us to the metro i am really excited but nervous because its going to be really cold and REALLY busy. The National Mall is already packed and Crista woke up at 4a to get in line for us even though we have tickets the lines are gigantic. Thank you Crista!
So my Mom, Sal and I are on our way to find Crista. It's going to be hard but we can do it.
We'll be out all day at the inauguration and I will post again late tonight with pictures and video.
Have a good a day.

  2. Hi Sophie and Laura!
Ailish and I watched the inauguration from home this morning. Ailish is very excited that she knows people who were there! It looked very busy and very cold, but everyone looked so excited and happy.
We look forward to reading more about your trip to DC and your impressions of President Obama.
    Have fun and stay safe.
    Love,

  5. Yeah!!

Today was an awfully long and challenging day. We started our day at 6am heading for the 1st train which took two hours but should have taken closer to 20 min.

We met some very nice people on the train. We first met two young women from North Carolina who chatted with us until we reached their stop.
The train soon became way too packed. Up until the point where Sally and I felt like we couldn't breathe. It was really scary.
Then on the second half of the ride as the car unloaded a little there were these two nice men. One was an older man with 15 grandchildren ranging in age from 2-11 and he talked about school work and books with us.
The other was a women's college football coach and he did a bunch of magic tricks for us.

Since it's after midnight and we're all sooooo tired but happy I will post tomorrow more about what was the experience of my lifetime!

    Good night.
