After waking up at 4am to make our plane we arrived at the airport awfully tired and then had to go through security which took about 15 minutes.
Once we made it past security we ran to a bagel shop to get a quick breakfast.
While on the plane to Denver there were some people that were clearly going to the DC. On our plane from Denver to DC it was one big inauguration plane! There was one woman in a black tshirt that had Obama's face made out of little crystals that looked like diamonds and many wore other Obama clothing. To the inauguration I am going to wear the shirt that I wore to go to the polls with my Mom when she voted. It says, "Obama is my hero, I wish I could vote".
As the flight attendant was trying to get everyone out of the aisles and into their seats she would quietly whisper in her microphone, "YES WE CAN, YES WE CAN, YES WE CAN...."
Everyone laughed and cheered and sat down. It worked.
We landed in cold DC around 5p and then went to our hotel and met up with our good friends Crista and Sally. They took a different plane.
We're all so proud to be part of this exciting inauguration. I need to go to sleep now, Sally and Crista are already asleep and we need to take the shuttle to the Metro at 6am. Crista is going even earlier to get us a spot in line.
I'll say good night for now and when I post next, we will have a new President, Barack Obama will finally be here!
